GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The clerk-treasurer performs a variety of routine and complex clerical, accounting and finance work in administering the treasury and finance function of the Town.
Performs Statutory Duties of Treasurer
Manage the collection, receipting and depositing of all monies paid to the town.
Maintain proper records of all monies received by the town.
Manage disbursement of funds from the treasury upon proper authorization.
Invest town funds as authorized by statute and Town Board and that all finds are insured.
Manage funds and bank transfers to meet town's cash flow needs.
Performs Statutory Duties of the Clerk
Attend the meetings of the Town Board, Jt. Plan Commission & Town Board, ELSUD and Special Meetings called by the Chairman or two Supervisors and keep a full record of their proceedings.
Responsible for seeing that all agendas and other required notices are prepared, published and posted as is necessary to comply with local or state regulations.
Responsible for the coordination and operation of all elections. Present at elections, coordinates poll workers to ensure proper staffing for elections and provide training for election workers. Responsible for updating voter registration/poll list and providing necessary documentation to the County regarding elections.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
